Call for BCIO Head Office members

BRIDGE CLUB International Organization　(BCIO) head office is planning to re-invite a few former PAs to the 22nd APCC PA programs as a BCIO Head Office member among the active leaders of local BRIDGE CLUB(BC)s. We would like to implement this special invitation for the following purposes.

 If you are interested in and highly motivated, please read through the following information and send us the necessary documents as soon as possible.

Invitation Purposes

- To Develop Human Resource who can take initiatives in BCIO management in the future   Although the BCIO is currently managed by the head office, mainly consisting of Japanese staff and based in Fukuoka, Japan, we would like to involve some active BC leaders in its management. We think it is meaningful to run BCIO with global perspective brought by multi-national BC leaders in the near future; therefore we are to re-invite a few former PAs to experience the management of the PA program and nurture them to be future BCIO managing members.

  Moreover, it might pave the way to plan and organize the BCIO general meeting somewhere else, outside of Japan, which is under consideration to realize within several years of time.

- To Guide new PAs 

  Since they are the main members who have already been leading BC activities in each country/region, they are experienced enough to give advice or consul to new PAs from various points of view. Moreover, they can strengthen the network among the participating countries/regions and they can also follow up with new PAs after the invitation program.

- To heighten motivation 

  It will lead to the further & higher motivation towards BC activity in each country/region through re-experiencing the APCC invitation program and PA program, and deepening friendship with other PAs. Their enthusiasm will also give a good influence on the local BC members and BCIO network as a whole. 

Guideline for Application 

Numbers of Former PAs to be accepted: 2 or 3

Invitation Schedule: July 16th (Fri.), 2010 - July 27th (Tue.), 2010  

                             Same period as 22nd APCC Invitation Project

Participation Criteria:

1. Must have taken part in previous APCC as a PA. 

2. Must belong to your local BC and have been playing an active role in it.

3. Must have experienced the management of your BC.

4. Must have a strong will to continue to take part in the BCIO management as long as possible (at least ONE YEAR) after this Invitation.

5. Must make every effort to attain above-mentioned purposes. 

6. Must adhere to the whole PA program schedule and be able to take the flights designated by the BCIO / APCC within the above schedule.

Application Deadline:  Feb. 20th (Sat.), 2010 　18:00 Japan Time

              1) Applicant Name

            2) Country/Region Name

            3) Year of Participation as a JA and as a PA

            4) Present Role (title) in your BC (including your job description and your achievement in your BC)

            5) Your plan: how you can contribute yourself into BCIO management as Head Office member (Style: free)

               Imagine that you are one of the BCIO Head Office members and you take part in its  management. What are you going to do or be able to contribute to? Please make a plan of your tasks as a BCIO Head Office member to improve its management and to make a sustainable organizational structure. Describe it concretely as much as you can.

Selection method: BCIO head office selects and determines the finalists with the APCC secretariat. The BCIO head office will inform all applicants of the selection result on Feb. 26th (Fri.), 2010.
