Movie night Fundraiser for Nepalese earthquake
Bridge Australia came together on the 5th of July to raise funds for earthquake victims in Nepal.
As participants of the APCC we are global citizens. Whilst in Japan, we all made friendships with people from across the world and it is our responsibility to help one another in times of need.
In light of the recent natural disaster in Nepal, Bridge Club Australia ran a movie night to raise funds for victims affected by the 7.9 magnitude earthquake. Many of our dear friends in Nepal are among the 5.6 million people still lacking basic necessities such as water, shelter and medical care. We watched a Japanese movie and enjoyed pizza and Japanese food for dinner.
$200 was raised from donations and a raffle.
Thanks to everyone who came for your generosity, to Heather for providing a venue and delicious Japanese curry and Janet for suppling the excellent movie.
The night taught us a lot about OMOIYRAI spirit and we hope our dear friends in Nepal are staying strong.
