Art of Paper Folding: Vocational Training to Girls

When: 4th September 2016  

Where:  Van Vashi Kalyan Ashram for Girls, Raipur  

What: Thank you to My host mother Naomi Iwanaga , she taught me this art of making paper box cups out of old magazine paper , which can be used for serving  dry snacks, holy offerings, etc.  8 to 15 year olds girls living in the ashram and belongs to low socioeconomic families. These girls were taught the art of paper folding to make PAPER BOX CUPS. These box cups are in high demand in the market for holy offerings, as there are many festivals falling till December month. To make these box cups , there is no material cost as  old magazine paper used are  available for free  and beside paper there is no other material required as it’s all about folds.  They will be selling it in the market and generate some pocket money for themselves.

Donation: The Ashram was donated stationery (pencils, pens, erasers, sharpener) for 50 girls who live there.
