Mr. David from Singapore visited Myanmar!

On 20th November 2013, Mr. David, (Chow Tai Wei) a liaison officer of BC Singapore visited Myanmar for the first time. He could contact with Ms. Tsu Yamin (BCIO HO Member 2013, PA 2012) and Ms. May Thi Khant ( PA 2013) as they were together at the Peace Ambassadors’ camp 2013 in Global Arena, Japan.

On Wednesday evening, Yamin and May went to the Yangon International Airport to welcome and pick up David. Afterwards, all of them went to a nice café namely Serenitea in Yangon in order to meet other members of the local BRIDGE CLUB. XIE XIE! Mr. David for treating us a really delicious dinner although we were supposed to treat you. Mr. David and BC members exchanged gifts, took photos, had a long chat and enjoyed the evening. Lastly, Mr. Htet Naing Lynn (one of the BC members) sent Mr. David to the guest house.

The next day, David was taken to visit various landmarks of Yangon by Yamin such as famous pagodas, the colonial buildings, the traditional Bokyoke Market, and local restaurants. In the evening, they went to Padonmar Restaurant and met up with Mrs. Mu Mu, from Myanmar Association of Japan Alumni, who will be a liaison officer of Myanmar starting from 2014. May also joined the dinner where all of them had a long discussion for 3 hours! It was a very successful meeting and thank you so much again to Mr. David for sharing all the experiences as a LO which will help the new LO of Myanmar to organize and plan for the future junior ambassadors from Myanmar.

On Friday, Mr. David, Htet Naing Lynn, Naing Lynn Kyaw and Tsu Yamin went to Mhawbyi ,a town which is around 26 miles from Yangon and visited an awesome newly built pagoda, famous for its collection of 301 ancient Buddha statues. They also visited colonial cemetery and went to see other famous pagodas and white elephants, (the treasures of Myanmar) on the way back to Yangon. In the evening, Mr. David enjoyed seeing the market sceneries of Chinatown in Yangon and also visited the glorious world-known Shwedagon Pagoda along with Yamin’s family. In the late evening, Mr. David left Yangon for Mon State, (160 kilometers from Yangon) to visit the most famous Kyaikhtiyoe Pagoda with a tour bus. He enjoyed the whole Saturday on the top of the hill and got back to Yangon on Saturday night.

Sunday was the day that David left Singapore but in the morning, Htet Naing Lynn accompanied him when seeing around the market places in Yangon. We hope that he had a really great time in Myanmar as he had a chance to visit so many famous landmarks together with BC members.

VISIT US AGAIN SOON! MR. DAVID!

:)
