Northern California Cherry Blossom Festival

Bridge Club and the Oakland Fukuoka Sister City Association participated in the annual Northern California Cherry Blossom Festival Parade on 22-Apr-2018. The Festival organizers state that “the Festival serves to cultivate the continued alliance between Japan and the United States using culture as its bridge.” Our group wore Fukuoka Happi coats as we walked from San Francisco City Hall to Japantown (Nihonmachi) along with many other Japanese/Japanese American groups. We finished our activity with a delicious Japanese dinner.
