Aim:

The 2014-2015 Common Activity challenged you to think about someone in the APCC network that had inspired you.

This could have been a Junior Ambassador, Peace Ambassador, BRIDGE CLUB member, APCC volunteer, Liaison Officer, or member of your host family- and then for your story to be shared with others through the APCC Facebook Page.

To Participate:

1. You needed to write a short description (150 words limit) about someone connected to the Asian-Pacific Children’s Convention or BRIDGE CLUB that had inspired you. This could include a personal story, quote, or anything else that would help to share how this person has impacted your life

2. You then needed to take a photograph of that person, or if necessary you could’ve requested an image from them directly, to submit with your entry

3.Then your description and photograph needed to be emailed to inspireapcc@gmail.com. Including your name, country/region, and APCC year(s) (if you are a former Junior Ambassador and Peace Ambassador)

The Inspire APCC Project was an activity designed so everyone could participate.

It was designed to showcase the inspiring stories that have come through APCC and of those who help make APCC happen.

Timeline:

* Originally Inspire APCC was only to accept entries until March 15th 2015

* We extended the deadline to the March 25th 2015 to allow all countries to submit after popular request.

* We then continued to post until the last post was uploaded on 30th June 2015.

Submission Recap:

* Nearly 85 entries were received from countries all over the world.

* After assessing the relevancy and adherence to the guidelines, 79 of these were posted up on the APCC facebook page and can be found in the Inspire APCC album.

Reception:

* The project started of very strong with the first post reaching over 170 likes on its picture.

* This rate continued throughout the project.

* Over the entirety of the project, all of the pictures generated an average reach of over 2000 people per each posting.

Special Observations

* Bridge Club Japan became the leading country to submit most number of entries (12).

* 1/3rd of the total entries were by 2014 Junior Ambassadors.

* BC Vanuatu actively participated in this Common Activity even though amidst a severe natural disaster.

How did the “Inspire APCC” Project foster the Development of 3 core qualities necessary for “GLOBAL BRIDGE LEADERS”?

Communication: Developed through the writing and publication of entries via the APCC Facebook page.

Action: It encouraged people to think about those who inspire them and publication inspired others to take action themselves.

REspect: Made people aware of the inspiring people throughout the APCC network. The whole project was encompassing of respect to those who inspire us.

Overall we were really amazed by the inspiring people of APCC both those who have been recognised as well as those who submitted entries. It made for a very successful Common Activity for 2014-2015.
